How To Release Parking Brake On Maserati

  • #ane

I don't commonly exit it off, but should have washed as this morning after having not driven it for a week it came upwards with an ABS and brake failure error after I pulled abroad, 400 yards later on I pulled over switched the engine off then on and all back to normal so I remember it must take been binding.

I tried to release information technology when I got back habitation and volition try to get into a routine but what i the correct way to release it on the QP, I thought it was put your foot on the brake then switch the engine off and lift the EPB lever, simply must be getting it wrong in my onetime age.

Can any one advise the correct way to ensure it is always off?

Thank you.

Yes press the park off button before turning ignition off. Y'all volition see PARK OFF displayed in the DIS if information technology is anything like the GT. Sad mate my QP had an old fashioned handbrake.

Aye printing the park off button earlier turning ignition off. You volition meet PARK OFF displayed in the DIS if it is annihilation similar the GT. Sorry mate my QP had an old fashioned handbrake.

Cheers Phil, so just lift the lever, put foot on brake and switch the engine off?

On the dash area near the stereo at that place should exist a push (similar the SPORT one) which says "PARK OFF" on it. If in that location is printing that, information technology should exit the car in gear (does on the MC Shift GTS) but in a ZF Auto yous would obviously be in Park.

Hi Phil,

Sorry for the belatedly answer, on been into the motorcar today and looked and there is no button for Parking off, any other ideas?

Whilst I use 'Park Off' when leaving the car overnight or longer there is another way which should piece of work on your QP. Switch off as normal and you will hear the EPB deploy. And so turn the ignition back circular all the way without starting the engine and flick the switch to release the EPB and you lot will hear it dis-engage. And so turn the ignition off and you should not hear the EPB re-appoint. It's a a hassle but does work.

There isn't one on mine either. Sometimes you can just release the EPB after information technology has engaged automatically and turn ignition off when information technology has gone off. Sometimes you practice that and it goes dorsum on once more. Nonetheless in that instance but plough electrics on only and release EPB again by pulling EPB switch on centre console so switch off ignition and it volition stay off then.

Thank you Bob, will check information technology out. I know it comes upward with something near apply the foot restriction, just needs some time to run information technology through.

Ta Phil,

But been out this night and got it sussed, the piddling give away was look until the pressure was achieved and so press once again to switch off (approx. 5 secs).

You know I could have sworn that I didn't have a Park off push button on the dash, only I stand corrected and apologise Phil, but I was looking on the left and it was on the right.

So what is the divergence betwixt the Park off Button on the nuance and manual doing information technology past flipping the parking restriction lever?

Nothing really. Basically I always push (and agree) the park off button before turning off the ignition. That way the EPB doesn't engage when you switch off the auto. Once it has been engaged then you have to use the little lever (accompanied with your foot on the brake) to undo it, if you lot want it off before you switch off. Of form, it will undo if you put the motorcar into Drive.
